Mouse Baiting Tips
Rat Baiting Tips
Rodenticides are poison baits and should be used in areas where domestic
animals and children can't reach. However there are resistant -tamper proof
bait stations that hold the baits in place and keep children and pets out , in fact it is a national law and guideline to use resistant-tamper proof bait stations in areas where children or pets could access.
Mouse Baiting Tips
Rats tend to be cautious and mice are more curious.
Rats tend to eat most of their food at one time.
Mice while being "nibblers" eating many times at different places.
It is important to remove their food sources-but do not disturb the rodent habitat,
until a complete knockdown and elimination occurs before they could move to another area.
A successful rodent control program includes a combination of baiting and trapping for the highest rate of success.
You may also want to consider integrating your program ,with exclusion techniques and a general cleanup ,removal of their hiding places(harboraging areas.)
If the population is large, you will want to begin with a high quality rodent bait, to quickly knock down a population and prevent rapid growth.
There are different types of baits to choose from: blocks, pellets, seeds ; each rodent population is different in their preferences, so a little of each is a good choice in bait selections.
When baiting intially , try not to disturb their original habitats or they may run to another area.
After baiting has begun, continue with sanitation procedures, food source removal, and harborage removal to ensure additional rodents from nearby areas are not attracted to your location.

Rodenticides should be placed in areas of rodent activity.
As with traps, keep monitoring the results, placing more bait out
when needed.
We carry two types of bait:
MULTIPLE FEED BAIT and SINGLE FEED
BAIT.
Multiple feed bait requires several feedings to receive a lethal
dosage, and single feed bait requires one feeding.
Rodenticides work equally
well on mice and rats.
The advantage of multiple feed baits are that they are less expensive and less risk of secondary poisoining
( e.g., a dog consuming the carcasses of rodents).
A rodent bait that has no secondary poisoning potential at all is called:
It
has no secondary poisoning potential, because the mode of action is not an anti-coagulant.
Fastrac is the fastest of the single feed baits, requiring less bait.
However with this product(Fastrac), an andidote is not available, so the use of Tamper Proof bait staitions are important.
, (mice size shown to the left)and
to keep pets and children out of the bait is very important.
This increases the chance of bait acceptance by giving them several choices. It contains bait for both the outside and inside.
Contains:
Contrac Cake block : 1 lb.
5 packs of Contrac 25 gram each
5 packs of Final 25 gram each
5 packs of Fastrac 15 gram each
Recommended products for the outside are:
(SINGLE FEED BAITS:)
weather resistant (single
feed bait - a 1 lb. Block)
Single feed-4 lbs. of 1 ounce blocks-with a hole in it to hang out of the way or in rods in the bait staitins.

Single feed bait, weather resistant 9 lb. 1 oz. blocks

Single feed bait , weather resistant 128 X 15 GRAM blocks, very fast acting rodent bait.
(MULTIPLE FEED BAITS:)
This bait could be used where there is a chance of secondary poisoning,(other animals eating a dead poisoned rat or mice).
A multiple feed bait is generally less potent than a single feed bait , however, Ditrac Blox has a very long persistence once ingested. For a greater degree of safety always use Tamper Proof Bait stations.
Recommended products for the inside are :
Single Feed baits:

(Single
feed bait),

(single
feed bait).

(Single
feed bait) work very well for
mice.
When choosing a multiple feed bait for the inside:

would work very well.
