Caterpillar Control

Learn how to get rid of Caterpillars on trees and plants.

To treat against caterpillars, you can spray any plants, trees, and shrubs that the caterpillars eat with either Bonide Thuricide or Dipel Pro.

Both products contain a non-toxic bacteria called Bacillus thuringiensis that destroys the stomach lining of the caterpillars. This action causes the caterpillars to stop feeding immediately and helps prevent further damage to the plant. The caterpillar population will decline rapidly after enough of them have ingested the bacteria.

  • Organic gardeners frequently use Bacillus thuringiensis for a variety of reasons. One specific reason is that it will not harm beneficial insects such as Honey Bees and Lady Bugs. It is also safe to use on Fruits and Vegetables as well as ornamental trees and shrubs. Another added benefit is that it can be used on lawns and does not damage the grass.
